Experience
I have been tutoring students of all ages - from homeschool first grade to many middle and high schoolers and even college students - on and off for the past ten years. I enjoy helping students succeed and reach their full potential. Each child has different learning styles, and I tailor my approach to what works best for each. Sometimes students are in the A range and want to strengthen their skills even more, and sometimes students are really struggling in a subject. My goal is to show students that overcoming academic roadblocks can be fun, and to empower them to succeed in school and solve problems. I attended a very rigorous Prep School (SF University High School) that enabled me to do well academically in college. In high school, I took and passed the following AP exams and courses: AP US History - 5 AP Chemistry - 4 AP Calculus AB - 4 AP Economics -Micro/Macro -4/4 AP French Language - 3 In addition, I received an 11 on the SAT 1 essay, 750 on the Math Section, and 750 on the Verbal Section. In college, I received all As in General Chemistry & Lab, Biology, Math, Western Civilization, Environmental Studies, and Writing, as well as many of my Organic Chemistry and Physics prerequisites. In graduate school at Georgetown, I received As in all classes for a 4.0/4.0 and was ranked number 1 in the class. I also graduated with the Academic Excellence Award.

Hobbies
When not studying for school as an undergrad, I was doing community service for Adventures in Caring at Cottage Hospital or riding my horse. Adventures in Caring is the "Raggedy Ann" program, where volunteers dress as a Raggedy Ann doll, and visit with those who are critically ill and/or recovering in the hospital. I kept my horse at a local stable in Santa Barbara, and ride 5-6 days per week. I regularly competed at the national and international level while in college. Now, my husband and I live in Marin County with our two dogs. I work in the life sciences industry and am also a professional equestrian. We enjoy skiing, traveling, and hiking.
